Thanks chaps,

I am going through all my photos in order to back them up after pruning out those of poor quality. Maybe there are others who should be doing the same. :wink:

Hi MM,

Male House Sparrow on left (brown nape, grey head, black mask, streaking on back), juvenile on right (gape).

@mgoddard

I think you will find that especially on this thread the really wise oaks (not referring to myself!) will not help unless you state the time of year / place and behaviour if possible of the bird. And with LBJ's, believe me, you really need the wise owls. If you go through the threads you will see that there have been many appeals for that and some very heated reactions as well. It's a matter of principle for them.

Good luck with the sorting, and I really envy your camera skills!

Walt3, Thank you. I must once again apologize for not mentioning where the pics were taken, but I took it for granted that ppl would know, forgetting about the many new members on the forum :redface:

All pics I post was taken during my 264 days in Kruger. From May 2009 to January 2010. If you need to know exactly when a certain pic was taken then I can post that as well (camp, road, date, time etc)

I hope i can get all ID's done to see where my bird list is standing.

Well, me posting that photo quite a while ago saves me searching for it. I still think that the ones in Europe look different. Have a look at these two:

How is it possible that a topic about such a common bird get so little attention? :hmz:

Another bird that has me stymied :wall: I'd at first thought perhaps a female Cape sparrow, but it has a light coloured bill ... so perhaps a juvenile of some sort? Seen in my garden in Darling in late September 2013.
