Hi friends
Would you say this is a warbler? It was seen in H1-3, KNP.

Hi Charbel

Possibly a female Wattled Starling. You can just see a yellow face patch and the black wing bar against the lighter grey background of the rest of the body

Hi Ross,
Thanks. It makes a lot of sense to be a wattled starling, since in the other pictures taking around the place we took these, there were a lot of wattled starlings flying in and around the wildebeests and zebras....

Cheers
Charbel

Looks like an adult Wattled Starling in non-breeding plumage to me

I recently spotted this bird in Okaukuejo camp in Etosha. I thought it would be an easy ID for sure. But I just don't find any bird matching it in my birdbook!?!? So either I'm not looking well enough in my book, or it's one of those birds with variations or something! Please help me out of my frustration. Unfortunately I took the pics in the early morning before sunrise - so not the best light. They were in the camp and eating some of the insects that were lying underneath the streetlamps in the morning. Looks a lot like a thrush... It's about that size as well. :hmz:

Here's another that has me :wall: :wall: Could it possibly be a wattled starling beginning to moult? Seen at WCNP in early December 2012.
