Robert Wienand has been in touch to let me know that he has seen the EGYPTIAN VULTURE this morning 1.1km south of the Nlhanganzwani Dam turn off East of the S28 in the Kruger National Park. So, it seems to be sticking around in this general area...

Good luck if you are planning on chasing it!

Kind regards
Trevor

Any photographers out there???? :D :D

I was at the spot hours after Robert and missed the bird. All the vultures that had been hanging around there had left. Whatever caused the hang-around must have been completely devoured...

Even today's initial sighting seemed to have been a false alarm.

Vultures can travel 100's of km's per day. If, as JVR said, whatever they scavenged on were done for, they would've moved off to goodness knows where to.
