Ha, thanks, JvR! It's awesome and a milestone and everything, but it hardly feels like an accomplishment. The birds are always there - I have just been privileged to lay my eyes on 701 of them in Southern Africa so far.

Had a bit of a disaster. The kids played with my laptop with Roberts' Multimedia on it and guess what. . They spilled coldrink on it, frying the hard drive!
I have absolutely no idea what my total is now. Will haveto go through my books and see if that helps.

Oh my Roan - that is aweful! :slap: Technology is great when it is working - but if it takes a sip of coldrink and dies from it - it gets darn frustrating! :naughty:

Don't speak to me about computers Roan the hotel server crashed with no backup - there goes my lists for the garden (over 130 birds including osprey) anf four nearby reserves along with statum - dates seen etc - I could cry we are talking six years of sightings here. To make it worse only a few days before I was saying that I needed to copy the info to my new computer. The geniuses are trying to retrieve our info but after four days I am begining to loose hope.

As I always say give me a landcruiser, a boat, a rifle, fishing rods, paper and pens and keep the rest of the modern world

My list is on 153. I managed to add Long crested eagle, Greycrowned crane and African pied wagtail during a trip to the Wild coast..., even though I didn't really have time for birding.
New goal for 2012 still 200 birds.

I'm up to 546 after a trip to Magoebaskloof and Kruger. Didn't add anything in Kruger, but around Magoebaskloof I got Drakensberg Prinia, Gurney's Sugarbird, Short-clawed Lark and Temminck's Courser in the grasslands around Kurisa Moya, and in Woodbush Forest I added Blue-mantled Crested Flycatcher, White-starred Robin, Yellow-streaked Greenbul, Black-fronted Bushshrike, Yellow-throated Woodland Warbler, and got Bat Hawk at New Agatha
