Which is the bigger milestone? 850 ticks or twelve years?

Congrats on both!

Good Evening all -

:imsmilin:

After a dry-ish year, I had a wonderful (1st) pelagic trip off Cape Town and am now at another treble...444.

555 is next...and I'm off to N. Natal in two weeks so here's hoping...!

I'm also on a treble, up to 555.

Very nice indeed!

Well, that does set the bar a leetle high for my six day trip, Matt...but I'll see what I can do!

Well if you've never birded Norther Natal you should get a big haul of lifers in 6 days, but yes, 111 of them might be a bit too much of a tall order

Hi Ferdelance, where did you see this bird? Did you get any good shots of it? I have been looking long and hard at all Coucals up there and I have yet to find one with a plain rump and upper tail. I know Tertius Gouws got a breeding pair near Punda earlier this year, so they must be around.

My new total is 164 after our recent KNP trippie, my total was 111 and my year end target was 150, so I'm very happy to be on 164!

Supermongoose, enjoy the honeymoon period, when you tick them off at a rate of knots. Things slow down after 500 :naughty: , and reaching over 700 a lifetime achievement

Good Evening WTM. After our failed attempt on the BBW 2010 I wasn't excpecting much but we checked every Burchel's that we found and strangely enough we found one but not up at Pafuri. It was seen next to the H1-7 road between the H13-1 and that 258 loop road. We spent 30 minutes chasing it and calling it till we finally got a pic of the clean rump.... My photo is side on so it doesn't show it clearly but we saw it and others in the group got nice pics. They definitely there.

Missed the Chestnutbanded Plover at Mkhombo this morning but can add a Kittlitz to my humble tally, taking me to 445.

LATER:
AArgh! No I can't - I already had it..... :gflower:

Just got Faansie's new book on LBJs, and will need to add some of those annoying little fellas if this list is going to grow any quicker.

:sniper:

Hey Adrianp, I was just thinking the same thing....It's so exciting to tick off a new birdie and I want to enjoy the honeymoon for a long as I can. I suppose when you get to those high numbers, it could take years to tick off a new birdie :hmz: :hmz:
