WOW

My dad used to go Tiger fishing many years ago. I remember that he always spoke of the fish with great respect. They can be very fierce fighters.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Fantastic! Just a bit puzzled - what lake in Mapungubwe? Is this in an area where tourists are not allowed? Just curious 'cos don't remember a lake in that park.....probably due to old age :)

Probably Scroda dam which is owned by De Beers. Public are not allowed near it but you do get some views of it in the eastern side of the park.

Wow,

There was something on a Nature program here (BBC) recently about cat fish attacking pigeons/doves at the edge of water. I wish I'd paid more attention to the explanation they gave.

Interesting but not that strange,
Tigerfish catching swallows out of the air/in flight was report already a while (1-2 years) ago. If I not mistaken the video was shown on 50/50 or K-net. The dam it happen regularly is the so called TSB-Dam(sugar produsers) near Komatipoort. The reason why the fish are successful in their hunt are because the swallows are following a flight pattern and are so many it make it a easy catch.

saraf,
Ja, that happen also, also rare are that water tortoises can caught doves. I was fortunate one day to saw a small croc at Bobbejaankrans caught a Parrot dove.
