Its about 430km from the campsite to the gate at Marakele. A long and winding road actually! Should take about 5 hours if you take it easy. Would love to hear how it goes. Really  about the photography workshop in Mashatu.

Is the tree top walk operational? I thought it was affected by the recent floods.
Any updates?

Thanks

Looks worthwhile to put on the "to do list". Hopefully it will be operational when we visit the park later in the year. It will be a first time for us. Can't wait!

Hi Jen

We were there from 8 to 12 May and neither the Maloutswa hide nor the Tree Top walk was open. I don't know when it will reopen. Unfortunately Mapungubwe missed the boat when it comes to letting visitors know what's going on before they arrive. There is no info available on any website, so good luck on finding something out and I hope it'll be open by the time you visit again.

Speak to Norman at the park he's the "PR" person and has always been a star with all my questions. don't have his number right now but know it's on the thread about the road closures and/or the floods.
