Invader Pine Trees

Unread postby darreng » Fri Nov 15, 2013 4:29 pm

I recently finished the Otter Trail.
Please can park management advise what is being done to combat the invader pine that is clearly visible accross the whole hike?
Many of these invader pines are at least over 3/4 years old and are already dropping seeds, in many areas you can clearly see many new small invader pines growing . I fear that if nothing is urgently done to chop them down the reserve will soon be lost.

THE PINE NEEDLES FALL OFF THE TREES AND CAUSE THE GROUND TO BECOME ACIDIC WHICH KILLS THE BEAUTIFUL FYNBOS...
