Bump

It's ok if you don't have any info on the decks itself, but any info on the that area of the park - Diepwalle I think and what we can expect in terms of activities and scenery, is it near the sea like storms river or more inland? any one who has been to that area? I gather it's not as popular as storms river and knysna area.
thanks again, oh and also is October a good time to go?

Have a look at the following site.

press release on decks.

feedback on decks.

The area is mostly forest and plantations and definatly worth a day visit.
It is on the mountain side of the N2 National Road and therefore not so close to the ocean. My suggestion as a circular drive that start at Keurboomsriver and end at Knysna at the Knoetzie turnoff. This take you past the Valley of Ferns - a beautiful stop for a picnic and short walk into the forrest, the Big Tree and the camping decks. the are no real activities, other than the scenery.

October is a good time. Part of the road is gravel, but were in a good condition the last time we were there. Watch out for big trucks that transport the logs. Avoid the roads shortly after or during rainy conditions.

Enjoy - a unique experience, but don't do it at the cost of missing Stormsriver Mouth. That is still the most beautiful place on earth!

Hoephoep

To sleep a night in the bush must be a special experience.
