Hi - my fiancee and I have 7 nights booked at Addo - 4 in the main camp and 3 at the satellite camp. It's been suggested that we swap the 3 for 3 nights at Tsitsikamma.

How long would the transit time be between Addo and Tsitsikamma?

Does anyone know what the Honeymoon Cottage is like in terms of comfort?

We're there in October and the prime aim is a bit of whale & dolphin watching - what's the likelihood of some good viewing at this park? We'll be trying for some in and around Pringle Bay the week before.

Hi Benn,

I can only help you with one answer - the distance between Addo and Storms River - 275km. A max of three hours driving.

Whale watching should be good in October. As far as I can remember the whaling season is July-November

From Port Elizabeth it's about 175 km's ... We stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage 16A in December and it was fantastic.

From out balcony & living room we could watch everything in the ocean .. During our stay we saw Dolphins, Otters and 1 whale ... (Binoculars a must) .. The bird life is great and the forests around Storms River is great ..

If you must swop out....why not try
3 nights Main Camp of Addo
2 Nights Camp Matyholweni and
2 nights Tsitsikamma.
I think you will find more than enough time to do everything from Bird, Animal Whale and dolphin watching, as well as Honeymooning in all of the relevant sections of the parks.
If you haver had enough animal watching while up at the main camp, while at Matyholweni you can go into the village of Colchester only 5km from the camp and spend a morning on the river in a hired canoe, do a ferry trip up the Sundays river or visit the beach for a wonderful sand dune experience or you can Quad bike or ................... many other adventures to choose from.
Hope this does not add to your dilemma of deciding what and when to book!!!!
