Hi, where can I find pictures of all the Addo flowers?
Furthermore, today we left Addo and followed the Kirkwood road. Not far away from the turn-off on the left hand side one can see a row of big trees with the most amazing flowers. Light red, sort of lilly. The stem and big branches are covered with thorns.
In front of the trees is a railway line, behind them a plantation. We would LOVE to know the name of those striking trees. Not only us but other cars as well stopped and took photographs.
We don't unfortunately have images of all the plants/flowers here in Addo.
However, one of my game drive guides advises that the common name for the tree you're referring to is the Silk Floss Tree or Orchard Tree (Ceida speciosa). It belongs to the family Malvaceae. In Spainish it is called the drunken stick.
I hope this answers your question.
