Please help...
It will be my first visit to Addo later this month. We will be staying at Camdeboo before we arrive. Please advise the best route to travel and entrance gate into Addo .
I assume I should use the R75 and then R336 - am I correct?
If traveling this route where would I enter the park?

Thanks

Jen, I assume you will be travelling vai the N1 down south?

Then at Colesberg, take the N9 down to Middelburg, from there the N10 all the way through Cradock (stock up here if necessary) and then at Patterson, turn right on the R342 to the Addo Main Gate Entrance.

This will be the shortest and best route, coming from Gauteng.

Blackie

Sorry, just realised you will first be staying at Camdeboo. Still turn away at Colesberg on the N9 down to Graaff Reinet.

From there, I will take the R63 through Pearston and Somerset East and llink up with the N10 South to Patterson and then turn right onto the R342 to the Addo Main Gate Entrance.

Blackie

Hi Jen,

I would stick to your route. The R75 is a good enough road, which I have driven many times. You would then turn left onto the R336 (as suggested by you) and go through Kirkwood. I have also driven this road before, and is also in fairly good condition. I would say it would be the quickest route for me.

Kind regards,

Pat

Sorry, I forgot to add, the R336 comes out at a T Junction onto the R342. Turn left and you will enter at the main gate of Addo. It is clearly signposted all the way.

Thanks Patto. Will have a look at the maps again and make a decision. As we head to Mt Zebra after Addo will probably stick to your route to see some more of the countryside.

Only a pleasure. To go to Mountain Zebra, you should follow Blackie's advice (in reverse) and go up to Cradock on the N10. Just take note that they are doing roadworks on this road between Cookhouse and Cradock and blasting is happening most Tuesdays and Thursdays, when that road is closed for a number of hours (usually 4 -5 hours in total).

Enjoy your trip, all three parks are incredible!!!
