Cattle Baron opened in Addo

Image

Visitors to Addo Elephant National Park can now enjoy world-class steaks at the new Cattle Baron restaurant. What’s more, Wild Card members get 5% discount.

On 19 March 2014, Addo Cattle Baron opened its doors. Situated near reception in Addo main camp, the restaurant was attractively refurbished before its opening.

The more formal dining area inside has a welcoming bar and tables in dark wood, the chairs upholstered in subtle geometric patterns. On the large covered deck outside, picnic-style tables and benches create a relaxed atmosphere.

Cattle Baron serves steaks and grills cooked to your specifications.

Cattle Baron is famous for its steaks, having won several awards for the Best Steakhouse in South Africa. The signature dish is chateaubriand, a fillet flambéed with brandy and served with mushroom sauce and béarnaise sauce. In recognition of its game-park location, Addo Cattle Baron also serves venison dishes like slow-cooked springbok shank. Good news for Wild Card members is that they earn 5% discount upon presenting their card.

Addo Cattle Baron is open from 7am, so you can grab a quick bite before your game drive or tuck into a full breakfast when you get back. Pop in for a burger over lunch or treat yourself to a perfectly grilled steak. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s malva pudding and decadent chocolate fondant. A kiddies menu will satisfy little ones.

Me and a friend went to Addo Elephant National Park on Sunday for one night only.

We had dinner and breakfast at Cattle Baron and were very impressed by the new restaurant!

Fast and friendly service. Very big menu to choose from, something for everyone. The food was delicious!

On Sunday we ordered Surf & Turf and a Baron's Rump with any sauce from the menu. I asked for mixture of Pepper and Cheese sauce. Steaks were perfectly done the way wanted them.
At night they have small candles on all the tables to set a nice atmosfere.

Monday morning my friend had the Breakfast Buffet and I ordered a 3 Egg Omelette which had a filling comprising of Mushrooms, Bacon, Spring Onion, Cherry Tamatoes and Cheese. It was one big Omelette!

I would recommend Addo Cattle Baron anytime! The prices aren't bad at all!

Thanks to all involved for the MUCH IMPROVED new restaurant!!!

No, they've moved him to the new Information Centre, just opposite the restaurant, a couple of years ago.

Cattle Barron Skukuza will be a bigggggg improvement! The previous restaurant's food and service became a disgrace. Always only had a few beers on the Sabie river deck.
