For years I've been hoping for a half decent Aardwolf sighting but my best sighting so far was a dead one on the road from Kasane to Nata in Botswana. Two years ago I went to Mountain Zebra NP and I was hoping to see one there because there are relatively frequent sightings there. I didn't see one then so this year I went back for another try. I went in winter (July) and reconned that due to the cooler temperatures maybe Aardwolves would be active for some time after sunrise and before sunset.

We arrived at the gate of of the park at 13h20 and five minutes later we spotted our first Aardwolf :dance: It was far away so not really a photo opportunity but a sighting non the less. The next day we had another sighting at the end of the day and I'll let the pictures speak for itself as I don't think I need to comment further on the quality of this sighting :wink:

we go fairly often to MZNP and have seen quite a few aardwolf but they never seem to stand still long enough for us to get decent pics.

Madach :D thank you for sharing this wonderful sighting and a great picture to match.

I think that Mountain Zebra is an unbelievable gem. You have to visit to appreciate the atmosphere.
