Baby Ellie Pic

Unread postby gslabbert5119 » Wed Feb 10, 2010 8:27 pm

Hey I can blow bubbles with this thing at the end of my nose ...

At least 3 generations of ellies here.
Image

Look at the waterline on the baby ellie, well she slipped into the water and in a flash mom had wrapped her trunk around her and pulled her out and then said something to her, but to no avail, the baby ellie kept playing in the water.

What a treat, it was hilarious to watch her defy her mom, and you realise how small baby ellie is when you compare her to the thickness of mom's trunk.

Super pics. This is why ellies are my favourite animals - they are so human with their family interactions. That baby in the pictures, is just so adorable.

The baby and trunk photo is out of this world!!

I dream about photo's like this. This shows animal behaviour and is far more precious than just another lion sleeping under a tree, although that also seems to be typical animal behaviour. :D

Any more photo's of Addo, my favourite place on earth?

Here you go HoepHoep, the same baby Ellie doing calisthenics ...
Image

She did this a lot, looked for a mound and stretched out the front right leg each time. Maybe too much rugby and had to loosen up the hamstring a bit ... :P

When I photograph I always look for animal behavior before I take the so called "Animal sleeping under a tree" though that may be all you are presented with.

I am working on my trip report and will post it in the next few weeks.

Hi gslabbert5119

Thank you! I like :D

My Addo ellie scratching his foot against a stump at Hapoor dam. This lasted for quite some time.

Gotta admit this sort of stuff is much more interesting to look at ... Also leaves you with a lasting memory, my experience with the baby ellie will never be forgotten.
