My wife and I haven't been to the Western Cape since out honeymoon a couple of years back. We wondered whether staying in the WCNP in April was a good idea, or perhaps even Namaqua National Park? We like hiking, wildlife, kayaking and swimming (suspect it will be too cold though!)
We might also stay in SANParks accommodation within TMNP for a different view of Cape Town! Any thoughts on accommodation would be massively appreciated.

Graham, the latest issue of Country Life has an interesting article on accommodation in the Table Mountain National Park. With your interests, you should also consider visiting the Kogelberg Nature Reserve near Kleinmond. It's great for hiking, you can swim or kayak in the Palmiet River or the sea (although both cold at this time of the year), superb accommodation, close to good shops and about 90 minutes from Cape Town via the wonderful Clarence Drive between Rooi Els and Gordon's Bay. Book through Cape Nature; your Wild Card is valid.
Thanks for all those suggestions. Kogelberg looks amazing and I have downloaded SA Country Life May edition so that I can read more about staying in TMNP. I'll have to win my Camps-Bay-loving wife over though!!
