Does anybody have latest pic's on info from the Park's flowers? Is it to late to still see hills overflowing with flowers - someone told me its not worth the drive anymore, should have gone earlier, any comments? NOt many activity around this topic..strange ...and a bit sad..

Hi Ed..I do believe the flowers are quite spectacular....maybe you should PM Rookie...I know she visited the park today.

Ed, although some of the flowers have died off, there are still large areas covred in flowers of all different colours.
I am not the best photographer, but I have tried to post a couple of examples for you, as well as the Rock Kestrel and Yellow-billed Kites that we saw, just in case you like birds.

















It is still worth the drive!

The whole of the Postberg section is beautiful, but is only open until the end of the month, so go soon.

If you are not at work during the week, remember that it is national parks week this week and I think entry is free - bonus.

The fynbos in the rest of the park is also very pretty at this time and if you take the time to look in between the bushes, there are beautiful vygies of all sorts of colours, the field at the Geelbek turnoff is lovely with whites, yellows and oranges.

People forget thet there is still the rest of the park and tend to only go to the postberg section, but I love going to the bird hides (1 at Abramskraal, 2 at Geelbek and 1 at Seeberg).

Of course, you may be lucky to see a Caracal (the 4 legged furry type) and some nice bokkies, also in the Postberg section.

think that is all I can tell you at the moment, except to maybe pack a nice picnic lunch and ENJOY!!

Did you go up to the Seeberg Viewpoint Rookie? The flowers can be quite stunning up there as well...

Unfortunately didn't. I had my elderly mom with me and she was getting tired after being there all day, so I didn't even venture into that section. We did go to the hide last week, but not the viewpoint.

Spent the weekend at WCNP.............
