This year,we started our SA trip with a 2 day visit in WCNP!

We knew,the "real flowerseason" would be over at the end of September! We liked the pix of the the WCNP we have seen in this thread anyway,so
we decided to go there!
And SO and I were glad,we did!!
What a beautiful and relaxing place this is!!
We were lucky to see still some of those beautiful flowers!!
I'm sorry,that I can't give them the right name!!





















The landscapes are also very impressiv!Will post some pix tomorrow!

first glad that you are back and most likely a couple of trip reports will come up from you

Really nice start so far but I would say you still had great luck with the colours of all those beautiful flowers so far

Hopefully the rest of your loooooong trip was as same colourful as this start was

yes we were really lucky to see still some flowers!
We will sure visit again in the real flowerseason!We could image,how
beautiful the park will look.
We did not care much about sightings,we were excited about the
surroundings and were very impressed by the open sea!

No,we did not stay at Abraham's Kraal.
We were booked in Yzerfontain,about 20 min.drive to the gate!

This seal was sitting there,probably waiting for his friends.



Seabirds were plenty.

It looks lovely Ingrid; you must have enjoyed it immensely living so far from the sea. Like you, I am living in the middle of lakes and mountains but having grown up at the sea, I do not resist for too long without a breath of salty air. Next year after KTP, we are going to stay a couple of days in the WCNP.

I must say,I like it!

I just can say:Go to this wonderful place!
I think it doesn't matter what time you visit the park!
For us,it was a real relaxing time after all the travelling!!

And don't miss Geelbek!!Sit in the garden,eat something delicious,(that's what they serve )watch the birds and listen to their sound!!Wonderful!!
You don't want to go again!If you have to,visit the birdhide next to Geel-
bek!!







We didn't see much,it's the atmosphere and scenery,we liked sooo much!!

I see someone has discovered our little West Coast Jewel, A few days in that park and you feel like another person. It's not just the animals or scenery, it's the whole atmosphere, it calms you down totally.

Ingrid, your photos are stunning, my favourites are those you took at the Geelbek birdhide.

Yes,it is a Jewel!!

My hometown is surroundet with lots of mountains in quite a narrow
valley and sometimes it can feel a bit too tight.
Your landscapes are a change and SO and I love to look and there
is no end,just meadows,water and the sky!!
