Hi everybody,

For our first night at KTP we will arrive from Namibia (sleeping at Rehoboth), entering at MM to sleep in Keliekrankie.

I planned to check in at MM and then calmly go to KK but now I see on the accommodation page "The closest shop and fuel supply is at Twee Rivieren, where guests who have booked Kieliekrankie also checks in"

Having to go to TR and back to KK is a 3 hours drive !

Plus 6-7 hours from Rehoboth to MM plus MM-TR I am not sure we can make it in a day

Is there any way to check in at MM for Kieliekrankie ?

Please experts tell me there is a way

Hi WackoRhino,

You can check in at Mata Mata and there is a little shop in Mata Mata.

Enjoy your stay...........

Great pics and explanations about the Fata Morgana Phenomenon :D
At KK camp look out for the Leopard(sometime two of them)but also for the Brown Hyena, often coming for a drink at the waterhole early in the morning or late in the afternoon :)

What is the heat like in the Kieliekrankie cabins in summer? Any comparison to the river front chalets at Mata Mata (after the electricity is switched off) would be helpful, as we have experienced that!

Hi Elmar, unfortunately there is not just one answer to your question!
We were there in Feb this year (and the temps were in the mid forties for days on end  ) However, evenings and mornings at Kielie vary daily, if there is a wind blowing you can be exceptionally chilly, in fact .....rather cold!!
During our entire trip, the only time I put on a long sleeved warm top/jacket was at Kieliekrankie.
It could be cold, hot, windy or calm (and all of these can have the adjective VERY applied to them) but it does not stop us from making a booking if there is availability :D
Enjoy it

We've got a booking for 1night at KK in Feb 2015. Reading through this thread mention is made of water pump noise at unit #3 and someone said that the water pump was going to be moved.
Has it been moved? If not, how can we arrange not to get unit#3
