Lioness in Kamqua toilet

Unread postby Red Dune » Tue Jan 28, 2014 9:09 am

In a Cape Town news paper this morning there is a big cover-page photograph of a injured lioness that has apparently broken into the womens toilets at Kamqua (a picnic spot halfway between Twee Riveren and Mata Mata) to seek refuge of some sort, either to nurse her injury, or against the cruel sun at this time of the year.

I am however very sceptical that she would have been able to " break into " the facility . . . even more-so being injured, and I am just about 100% sure that the very effective sliding gate was simply left open by a tourist. Its a known fact that lions crave the cool concrete floor inside the toilets to hide from the heat.

Let it also be said that these toilets are very sturdy well build to protect the public against scenarios like these . . . and there is simply no way that this lion could have got inside . . . unless that was a factor of structural neglect or negligence on the part of tourist to have left the door open.

I do remeber the story of a couple of years ago when a a lioness left her two young cubs under the hand basin in the men's toilet at Dikbaardskolk . . . and the how the poor guy also got the shock of his life while he was 'busy' against the far wall . . . and the hearing the cubs behind him ! The door was also left open.

Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".
