Day visitors

Unread postby Rookie » Sun Dec 22, 2013 7:55 am

Hi

What is the system for being a day visitor into the park?
We will be staying outside the park for a couple of days before actually entering the park to stay and want to come in as a day visitor on these days.

I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi Rookie

It is the same as in other national parks. Just find out at what time the registration office open, pay your day fees, obtain your permit and enjoy!

Thanks Div, but at all the other national parks, you can get in when the gates open and not have to wait for 2 hours for the office to open.
I have a wild card so don't have to pay any fees or anything, I just need the permit. :(

Hi Rookie
In October we stayed outside the park for the first night. We went into the park late afternoon and explained the situation to reception then. They made a note and issued the permit to us that afternoon. When we left that evening, the gate keeper told us to take the permit with us. When the gates opened the following morning, we presented the permit to the gate keeper(who made the usual notes about our intended drive) and we were in! This system seemed to work! Hope this helps!

Hope you guys have a super trip!
