This was in December 2010. The previous Cheetah kill we shared with lots of other cars, but something we were very grateful for, was that we were the first car in line. This sighting we were all alone.

The three Cheetahs were under a tree just north of Kamqua. Baby Springbok and mom were across the road. Mom saw some Springbok Rams walking past and off the tramp went and left baby all alone under the tree.

Mommy Cheetah saw her chance to teach her kids some lessons in catching a Springbok.

She only chased the lamb out from behind the tree (photo one) and then she sat down and let the kids take over!!

It took quite some time for them to finally catch the lamb!! lots of time for me to take lots and lots of photos!!

25th October 2013.
Here are Elena and her family. We had seen them the day before and they were still around next morning and on the lookout for breakfast, just before Leeuwdril waterhole. Although these cats are lovely when they are just lying down we like to watch them when they are eyeing up prey. The slinking down and peaking over bushes.
As we were on our way north we didn't stay long enough to see if they managed to catch their meal.

They caught their meal on 25 October. When I arrived at Twee Rivieren in the late afternoon, Kgalagadi Guru told me about cheetahs who made a kill near Leeudril. It was too late for me to go for a drive but I saw them the following morning. Elena made another kill (springbok) on 26 October. :)
