Hi all,a quick question that I am sure will be answered quickly. Do you still have to check in at Twee Rivieren for your stay at Urikaruus? As we are coming from Grootkolk this would be quite a long day.
Many thanks. PF.

I normally only check in at entrance gate and then go directly to wilderness camp. As long as you have done this you do not have to go back to 2R. You can always confirm when you enter or at Nossob on the way.

If you have done the check in at the Entrance Gate Office you don't need to check in again at TR after your stay at GK.
Only if you've entered before the office has opened that you'll need to check in at either Nossob or Mata Mata for the different wilderness Camps. Those are the only places they can collect the Conservation Fee.

It is a misnomer that you need to check into one of the big camps before you go to the wilderness camps. I know that is how it seems to have been explained on the SANparks website. However, we just got back last night from out trip and stayed at 4 of the wilderness camps and went from one to the other. All you do is ensure when you sign in at TR you show the full itinerary. When you leave one camp they will know where you are going to for the next camp and will just enter the details into your permit. You hand in that permit when you arrive at your destination camp.
I hope this explains but p, me if you need more info.
