Amazing to see how these little guys are able to fly in and out these dense bushes without losing parts of their wings or tail.
Do you know what kind of bird it was?

I think it's a Tawny-flanked Prinia but not really an expert( even if I try to learn).

Hi Goronta,
Definitely a prinia by the tiny size and long tail ... (not a rufous-eared warbler because there are no rufous cheeks). My field guide says that Kgalagadi is out of range for Tawny-flanked, so how about Black-chested? It would have to be either a winter bird (non-breeding) or a juvenile, because it doesn't seem to have the black chest band at the moment. In August, my guess is non-breeding adult (brr it must have been chilly in the mornings on that trip!)

Little Egret, non-breeding (Egretta garzetta)

We saw this lovely bird near the Nossob waterhole March 2012. I think, according to Newman's Birds of Southern Africa, this is a not so common sighting.
