Thanks Lion Queen.

All the above were taken in April 2013 (last year). The "Roll Call" one was taken close to Kij Kij waterhole.

Here's another taken arriving at the waterhole:

Thanks Hilda and Goronta.

Love the bathing shot Goronta. Thanks for sharing.

Also in April 2013 around midday, we came across this batelier in the grass alongside the road at Rooiputs waterhole. He too was trying to cool off in a small patch of water. It appears his right eye has an injury too.

Very impressive bird CliveK
Must be a huge handicap for a raptor to have only one eye.

Still the same at sandgrouse at Cubit quat waterhole

Great pictures Goronta, Clivek, thanks for sharing!

(Never seen a bateleur that close in the Kgalagadi)

The white-faced owl and youngster was close by at one of the picnic sites, shot long time ago (2005)

"Look mum, he is watching us" :D

(bought a new yellow ribbon yesterday)

Best regards,

Thank you all for the nice comments.

These future feather dusters were seen on the dune road to TR in Feb 2012.

There were more than 30 "chicks"
