we have the same problem:-) with dwnp.
After about twenty emails (in about 4 weeks) we got an answer/email with the wrong date.:-)
but we said its ok! We sent the cc-form and dwnp sent us a the confirmation for receiving the form.
But they didn´t charge the cc. We are still waiting for the confirmation now. We sent a lot of mails and facsimile, but they all come back - no connection?! But today they sent us a reminder for the deposit  So we try to mail everything again and hope the best. Maybe there is a problem with the server? Who knows :hmz:
But we still hope

KTP - Information Please

Unread postby stelliegp123 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:51 am

Good morning all!

I know these questions have probably been asked hundreds of times, but I need assistance please.

We are looking to visit the KTP soon, but I would like to know when is the best time to visit between June and August? We are trying to avoid rain as we will be camping with a offroad trailer.

Planning as follow:

Twee Rivieren - 2 days in the area
Nossob - 2 days in the area (is the drive possible in one day from Twee Rivieren??)
Gnus Gnus via Swartpan
Lang Rambuka
Rooiputs via Mata Mata

Any alternative suggestions would be highly appreciated.

We are planning for about 10 days....

Then another question, how do one go about booking camp sites in the Botswana side?
Does most of the camps have ablution and Electricity?
Fresh water?

Sorry about all the questions!

Hi Stellie,

It is a pleasure to answer questions - what goes around comes around.

June - August is the dry season, probably closer to August as the rains seem late this year.

You have to book Bots side via Bots Nat Parks. There is info somewhere else on the forum.

There are ablutions at Polentswa & Rooiputs, but no electricity or fresh water, but you can get bottled water at 2R & Nossob close by. The other camps I haven't been to.

2R & Nossob have elecricity, but Nossob switches off the generators at 23h00 until 5h00.

Sounds like an awesome trip.
Whatever (according to BB): "You are correct but I don't want to admit it".

Hi Stellie

Yes it is possible to drive from TR to Nossob. Check the map on the sanparks website for distances and time it will take to get there whilst driving at the speedlimit. Add at least 2 hours for stops at sightings .
Enjoy your trip!

There is an unfenced camp at Kaa - we stayed there ourselves. Long-drop toilet and refreshing cold water shower with a beautiful tree for shade. Wish I could post a photo but do not know how to do it
