Caracals tend to do that, be invisible, I mean.

MM he tried his best!!

And did succeed as a lot of cars drove by without seeing it under and behind that tree. But then you don't expect to see a caracal at 11 in the morning!! :hmz:

We were the first to leave Nossop one morning in 2010 (had to be at Augrabies in time) when we came upon these ladies of leisure. They were lying flat in the road and the Landie had to go around them! Later got up and walked away in different directions.

Hope to see them again when we revisit end June 2014.

Sorry can not post the photo? Why?

Thanks for advice Lion Queen - still don't understand! I'm the generation BC ("Before Computers")

How long was the drive to Augrabies?
I'm doing it the other way around and am a bit worried about making it in time.

Hi jfh,

According to me..............

Augrabies to Upington = 1,5 hours

Upington to TR = 2,5 hours

TR to Nossob = 3.5 hours

Then you don't spend hours at a sighting and this does not include stopping in Upington for shopping.

Remember to add extra time for booking in at TR, filling up and deflating tyres.

Enjoy your visit............

Thank you lion queen; Spikes and Jan van Wyk for posting such wonderful waterhole encounters and keeping the postings rolling! Dalkeith keep on delivering! Unfortunately I have not been to the Park in more than a year, so my "material" is running very short! Have been to the Richtersveld for nine nights in April and then after two weeks at home again away to Namibia!

This is leopard Kruiper at Samevloeiing waterhole in June 2009!

How many lions do you see? Marie se Draai also June 2009

More lions at Marie's on the same day, but nearer to the waterhole!

We counted a pride of twelve lions in the riverbed!
