Yes , he did say " animal " , and that can be anything belonging in the Animal Kingdom , as against the Plant Kingdom
Besides , I would assume that KG would be very well familiar with any MAMMAL occuring in KTP and certainly would then not have to consult any reference books to ID it , but a bird may fly over a long distance from anywhere

I'm still thinking animal,.... so it could be a very young brown hyena cub going with the size. And shape.

After much debate we reckon it has to be a honey badger.

Yip....it sure was/is a difficult one due to colouration the 'hump' on the back.

In the park between Section ranger, Tourism manager and me we came to an agreement that it is a Honey Badger.

Have a look at the first picture the feet, it should be a giveaway, colouration....it might be slightly more black than normal, these things do happen

We are 99,9% sure it is a honey badger, the picture will be forwarded to our Kimberley office for 100% confirmation.

I think I will take some very close-up pictures of animals and then see if we could I.D. them. I must say I want to thank Bibronsgecko which phoned me and said it was a Honey badger - the first thing she saw was the feet and she assisted with extra pictures of the feet to be able to show you guys.

The following animal you might not find in KTP, at least I have not seen or heard of any sighting in the park, BUT it is also a good challange....a last one before we go into 2013.
