The following picstures were taken by a guests close to rooiputs, after a while we did get to ID the animal. I thought it might be nice to put it out there to see if the mites can Id the animal.....the only catch is you need to tell us why you say it is the animal you think it is

This could be embarrassing but I will go with a male ostrich. Certainly not an asiatic bear!

Lee...

You will not be the only one who might think it is a bear, there has been some of the camp staff which also thought it is a bear.

DB- We also consulted the books to ID the animal.

Could it be a honey badger? It is the two tone colour that would make me guess this, although the size does not seem right.

Well at least YOU know what it is! (it would be very frustrating never finding out)

From the back I agree with Lee, it looks as though it could be a Honey Badger. From the side perhaps a little more like a Tasmanian devil. :eviltreath:

It looks to be about the size and 'shape' of a HB, but the colouration is out.

I am thinking it is a dual type chap. You know like guy in one of Shakespeare's plays, half donkey, half man ... this guy in the pics is half platypus - the rear end.

Seriously; don't laugh now ... I am going to go with porcupine ....

It does seem to have the shape of bat eared fox (without the ears) and the head of a pangolin but honey badger would have been my first thought.........
