As long as you do not exit your vehicle whilst unloading the water. Except if you decide to go on a bicycle.

At least the animals will get plenty of water when the watering points for the cyclists are set up. I can see the lions jogging by and grabbing a plastic bag filled with water, waving a thank you in passing...

Well that will be mine and I believe it was all but off topic!!! :wall:

Never thought Sanparks and their representatives will refuse assistance from the public through whatever channels... This is a sad day, especially as there obviously is need for drastic measures that have to be taken without delay!

Rudi,

........... and mine.

I've gone to the pains of explaining to you how things work on this forum. Until the rules change (which might not be soon  ) that is how it will be.

We offered to assist you and you said that your project had nothing to do with the forum.... right?
So then it's either off topic or against the rules but either way it had to go.

PS: Sent you a PM to explain and I said that should you change your mind, we'll be happy to assist. That offer will stand.

Dear Rudi,

We used to have the Kgalagadi Waterholes as a project on our donations portal online a couple of years ago, so you are very much in tune with our needs. There were issues around that on the ground though, so we had to discontinue the project.

You need to work with the VHRs and put a proposal through to them. They will then coordinate this with the park management and faciliate the process - if it is feasble for the park.

Best wishes,
Nedret

If we as passionate group want to "donate" funds on a regular basis to assist the park with the possible obstacles they might have - will that be accepted ? I am leaving this Saturday for a 2,5 week visit to the park and sincerely hope that the water issue will be not as bad as what I have heard in the last week. I understand the Eland and been there a few years back when there was a huge problem with them also but then this occurred more South. a Close friend of ours just been and told us Kousant, Polentswa & Kannaguass were "dry" - this surely or shall I say I sincerely hope is not a permanent issue? :hmz:

Rooiputs was dry for a bit - towards the end of Sept. Not sure on the current status.

Absolutely! :D

All donations will be accepted into the H.R. bank account and the money would be channeled towards the park on your behalf. We are a volunteer organization and every cent you donate will be credited to a project of your choice, no admin or fees will be deducted.

You are welcome to PM me to discuss the way forward. :)

Rooiputs waterhole does have water, it just depends how much the herd of eland drinks which is in that area. Currently there is a herd of about 35 eland around Rooiputs.
