DuQues Great :cam: of the brown hyena.

 With a broken jaw what chance of survival would it have?

Thanks for sharing

Great contributions guys ........... very sad about the brown hyena .........

One morning we stop at Craig Lockhart water hole to watch a pride of lions drinking. The images below show a sub adult male that wouldn't leave my car alone (images taken by another visitor, except the one looking at me in the side mirror). Earlier that morning, driving down from KTC, I drove through lion or hyena droppings - now this must have made my car seriously attractive to this guy. He wouldn't leave it alone - I had to leave the waterhole and drive away. He followed me for about 1.5km, trying to jump onto the boot.

Face to face (window is certainly closed with his reflection in side mirror)

Waiting for me to drive off so he can give chase:

Trying to jump onto the back of my car:

I spoke to the section ranger at Mata Mata about it. He confirmed that this guy had previously escaped into Namib (he had a brand mark on his right back leg - which is apparently an indication of this). He had been causing problems with guests in the past ......... messing with their vehicles.
