Have to stay away from this topic for a while - still SIX MONTHS to go

Tomorrow is FORTY DAYS for us!! WOW!! EXCITEMENT!!


But still soooo much to do, to fit, to fix, to sort, to .....!

And time is waiting for no one!

159 days to go - and I can hardly wait! Everything sounds so good at the moment, with wonderful sightings. Trying to learn my raptors now and looking at old photies - which doesn't help the longing to be back! Have pity on me, everyone, and post lots of pictures for me to drool over!

Nine long months to go!!.... but looking on the bright side....it is less than a year...
A bit of a weird intinerary but it was the best that I could do with the availability and the intention was to try and experience as much of KTP as possible.

Back from the most amazing but very eventful trip in KTP. On our first evening drive from Urikaruus our Isuzu's main leaf spring broke in the Dertiende Boorgat loop (the corrugations in the loops were the worst that we have ever experienced in all our visits), so we limped back to the camp thinking that our trip had come to an abrupt end.
Eric, who was on duty at Urikaruus was amazing, he radioed Twee Rivieren because he knew a truck goes to Upington every Wednesday and got maintenance to order a new leaf spring for us and he also managed to change our second nights accommodation to Twee Rivieren. What a STAR!
The following day we drove slowly towards Twee Rivieren but only made it to Kamqua picnic spot where we realized that we could not drive any further because it would have caused even more damage to the Isuzu. The visitors in KTP are amazing, special people. We were towed back to Twee Rivieren by two good Samaritans who were enjoying their milo at the picnic spot.
Maintenance department's service and willingness to help was absolutely amazing and by 8.30 the following morning we were on the road again to spend our final two night at Rooiputs.

We were treated to an awesome sighting when we reached Kij Kij on our last morning. These two male lions came out of the dunes and chased two other groups of 3 lions around the area. The noise was deafening and the action was intense to witness and we were the only people there.

Hello to all! This is my first post, so i want to introduce me and my husband. We are a couple from Germany and are interested in travelling, nature and animals. Last year we had our first stay in KTP. This was so amazing for us...so we come back in 40 days. Moreover we are glad to find this forum. Such a lot of information, nice and helpful members and stunning pics. Now i am a junkie of this forum! Glad to be here with all of you and see you soon in KTP. And sorry, my english is not so well . Regards from cold germany (now with some snow)
