Lions at Gharagab

Early at the morning, around 5:00 am we were waked up by lions roaring nearby to find a male and a female at the waterhole. They dissappeared, but not an hour later again big roaring, the couple and two other females returned. So we had breakfast with lions.

Imvubu, this was one of the highlights of our last trip. We already saw some lions before, but most of them in distance, only one single lion next to the road. And Gharagab was the first remote wilderness camp for us, we had been to KTC, Twee Rivieren and Nossob before. Keep fingers crossed for you.

Lion queen, a queen should never forget her sunglasses - but you wouldn't have got that picture.

Carol g, thank you.

Lovely mating scene, series of pictures! Thank you for sharing ch3003!
Very nice close-up of a beautiful Queen! Thank you for sharing Lion Queen!

We had our daily portion of Africa an hour ago, watching the live camera on board of one of the Djuma game drives. It's so wonderful, sitting at home watching this on our tablet computer (IPad) streaming to the television as we were sitting in the vehicle watching the rangers tracking down a leopard! Wow!

Best regards,

Rob
