Joubie - great video! We had a similar sighting of the big guy around Kij Kij a week earlier. He is called Mufasa Junior and is the most beautiful lion I've ever seen.

We didn't see him this year but apparently he was seen close to the new Ta Shebube lodge at Rooiputs during our week in the area.

PRWIN - nice, looking forward to more!

If it,s the same guy we had him in our camp.

Nice shots PRWIN!
The guy on your campsite is not Mufasa Junior, but he's a new guy who was seen at a Hartebeest kill at the waterhole as well just before you arrived.

Morkel 777 If this is not Mufasa Jnr then he has been replaced as this guy was still around 10 days later in the company of some ladies

Perhaps he has been replaced then - he is still alive as Hannes Lochner saw him at the Ta Shebube lodge in the same week (same area too). Perhaps his pride also moved into an adjacent area or something - lion dynamics are always shifting.

This lion is also beaufitul. The way I pick out Mufasa is that his mane stretches all the way over his rump and even down to his elbows. Check the previous images posted of him - here's another one.

This guy you posted actually looks like one of Mufasa's brothers. They were a coalition of 3 before they "seemed" to have split up by November 2012. His 2 brothers were part of the small pride I watched take down an eland at Samevloeiing one morning during that trip. See below:

Looking at that first one and this one ,he is defiantly not Mufasa JR, must be one of the Brothers, Pity as I would have loved to have got a couple of shots of him.

This shot was taken by a friend of mine, Basil Dardagan. He won't mind me sharing it here. This was in February 2012 when the 3 brothers were still in a "coalition". What an awesome sighting (at Kij Kij).
