Hallo everybody...WOW great photos
I am struggeling with uploading my photos,so i'm going post a writen piece about a lion!!! hope you enjoy!!

Black maned Kalahari lion
Started out as fun fighting with his brothers and stealing from the pride male he calls father. To quench his thirst a whole pride of lions are there to watch his back and with the Kgalagadi hunting queen as his mother food is almost always served.
Now that he has to fend for himself he has to fight furious fights that may scar him for live or even take it. Days without water can be life threatening, and even if he finds water he has to know he doesn’t have a pride to watch his back. If he has the strength, guts and drive to become the king of the dunes, he has to stay in the shade during the blistering heat of the day, to build up his strength. And he has to move as he gains the power of the silent Kalahari night.
He must know exactly where to step when stalking prey…and exactly when to take it down. He will pick the perfect night to start roaring, and at the break of dawn he will be the only one roaring…Now yet again he can drink until you can hear the water splashing in his fully eaten stomach, because now he has the queen of hunting on his side again. When he lies under the camel torn tree on top of the red dune, gazing over his part if the world, he knows he has become the fearless, magnificent Black Maned Kalahari Lion…

Nearly a kill.

Early one morning after a quick cup of coffee we decided to drove north from Nossob and spotted the Lions walking in the river with beautiful golden early morning light.

Image

They were looking for breakfast and we spotted the Springboks in the river bed and the hunt was on.

but the Springboks spot them.....

Image

The one Lioness tried her best with no luck and we missed out our first kill in KTP....but there will be a next time
