Just talked to my sister who is camping at Mata Mata.

Lion with cubs last night at waterhole ....

.... and she was busy looking at leopard with a buck catch up a tree when we spoke (2min ago) on her Satt phone - dont know how far from Mata Mata as the line went dead. Will post where if I get hold of her again.

Woww !!! I am seriously jealous

We did the midnight gamedrive from Twee Rivieren last night. I'm used to quiet ones, for the fun. Not this one. Up to Leeudril and back we got:

Striped polecat
Genet
Spotted Eagle Owls
Barn Owls
Several Bat-eared foxes, one with 4 tiny cubs, hopping around like rats.
A Cape Fox with a cub.
Oryx
Springbok
Several Springhares
Several Black-backed Jackal
Brown Hyena
African Wildcats

And the cherry on top, barely 5km out of camp, a cheetah which we followed along the Riverbed.

The Springbokke have started lambing, so there's been a dramatic increase in Predator activity. We stopped for 3 at Rooputs feeding on a lamb yesterday around 9am when an idiot Springbok ran
past them with her lamb. They took out the lamb in under 1 minute. Clean and efficient.

The Nossob riverbed is the place to be at the moment.

Thanks Scouter.

Just returned from Mata Mata where I had to go do some work.

The trip there and back was just amazing, the following was seen:

All in all about 13 Spotted Hyena’s
Spotted Hyena which just caught a baby springbok and totally just taking it apart it.
2 large male lions
2 lionesses
Cheetah with three cubs
Plenty baby animals which included Wildebeest, Springbok and Hartebeest

HAVE A GREAT DAY
