Post subject: Re: Night Drives in the Kgalagadi...

@avavdb,

Kgalagadi does offer an activity where children under the age of 12 will be allowed on a drive, there are a few conditions which will apply. The activity is named 'Exclusive Private drive' whereby family groups/friends will be taken out where any kids will not disturb the other guests which might have been in a normal sunset situation.

You can mail me to get more information.

Hi Jannie (KG),

Does this activity still take place? If so, how much does it cost?

Regards

Myles

@Myles,

The activity was started for the reason that there would be guests with young kids which fall under the minimum age of a normal Game Drive, and due to the fact that guests would rather not go on an activity due to this rule or only one parent would then go and the other stay with the kid I have decided to start this drive where families / Friends could go out without the worry if the child would start getting restless on the drive.

The only condition we do have is there should be a minimum of 4 adults or pay for 4 adults since we keep a vehicle open for this type of situations.

The price is the same as a normal game drive- R 160.00 Per Adult and R 80.00 per child.

Hope it helps.

Sorry that i steal a little of your time, but a question worried me.

My trip to SA includes several days in Kruger, and here, I have booked 5 nigth drives, but in KTP, the personal of the park said me that it´s no possible to book in advance for this park.

Do you think I'll have problems in book nigth drives when i arrived to the park?.

We will be unhappy if when we arrived to the park, we cant make the nigth drives.

Many thanks and greetings to all. (Sorry for my bad English).

Hi spanishwolf and welcome to the Forum :D

Honestly, I don't think you will have a problem booking night drives when you arrive in KTP ... we have always just booked in the morning when we want to do a drive and never had a problem ....they do both sunset drives( leaves an hour before the gate closes and lasts about 3 hours and you get both the daytime and nocturnal animals so I always like it) and night drives so there is a choice of 2 times.

Enjoy your stay !!!

Kagalagadi Guru said
Midnight drive:
My feeling is that this drive will be very popular as it will be going out from 23h00 until 01h00. I have noted with the Trap Cams that there is plenty predator activity during this time of night/early morning. The price will be R 170, 00 per person with a minimum of 3 people on the drive.
The drives will be available at Nossob, Mata-Mata and Twee Rivieren and will go out on Mondays, Wednesdays, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as from 1 November 2011.

perhaps pm him to get more info?
