Good day to all! First time posting on forum - Will be staying at following camps:
6 June - Nossop
7 June Grootkolk
8 June Gharagab
9 June Nossob
10 & 11 June Bitterpan
12 & 13 June Khalahari Tented Camp
14 June Kieliekrankie
15 June Urikaruus

I need info regarding night drives - Where and when do I make the booking?
I know it's going to be cold at night and early mornings - what about day temperatures?

Have a magic day!

Hi there fiefie-koi and a warm welcome to the Forum

I stand corrected but I think that the only camp you will be able to do a night drive from is Nossob as they only do them from the 3 main camps - you can book at reception when you arrive for that evening .. It will be REALLY cold on the truck so take gloves, beanies, scarf, etc and a blanket too :D

I know it was 31 in Twee Rivieren on Sunday which is rather warm - have a look on the KTP website page just before you go - they have a 7 day weather forcast - this week will range between 4 and 7 and then between 23 and 28 degrees during the day ... Hope that helps and have an amazing visit !

I also am open to correction, but I am pretty sure you can do them from Tented camp on the Mata Mata vehicle.

Morning and sunset drives, as well as morning walks, are available at Twee Rivieren, Nossob, Mata-Mata and the Kalahari Tented Camp; enquiries can be made at the reception desks. ◦Drives require a minimum of 2 adults in order to go out.
◦Walkers are restricted to 8 persons, and no children under 12 are allowed. Guests need comfortable shoes and need to take water along. Tariff: R290 per adult (no children allowed)
◦ Please note that, due to availability of staff, drives are not always available 7 days per week; please enquire at reception regarding schedules.

according to the info on the site no mentioning of night drives
so are there any?
and can you book in advance or is it just at the time of arrival at the park

I know I booked in advance once or twice, but I also remember that during some stages you could only book at arrival. if you arrive 'late' at the desk the chance is the drive is already filled up or due to not enough interest no drive at all.

if the desk knows there are two participants they could promote it better to other arrivals, as was done when we once arrived at Karoo. after a long day with numerous stop and go's, which doubled our travel time, the receptionist welcomed us in the typical Karoo way and told us there was a family of 2 (father and young child) booked for a sunset drive. would we be interested to join them in 1,5 hour? so the drive could go out this evening? we and the other arrivals were very interested and 1 hour later a jolly bunch of 8 left the reception. we would have overlooked the little sign and the booked dad and child missed out on this drive. reward: beautiful caracal and porcupine

Morning All.

I have read the above discussion regarding activities from KTC. All activities (Walks, Morning, Sunset and Night drives) are available from KTC on the Mata-Mata vehicle.

Activities can be booked in advance, no problem with that.

If there is any other questions regarding the activities please do not hesitate to contact me.

I did evening drive from KTC

you have to book and pay at Mata Mata, the car will pick up you near the swimming pool (at KTC) and bring back at your door

welcome to the forum fiefie-koi :D
