Glad we waited until after the storm to go for our last evening drive. Most of it had melted by then. Wouldn't have been nice to get hail damage before going home! It was still thrilling to see all the water everywhere after it had been so bone dry earlier on. So glad we booked the extra night and didn't miss it!

Darn, we missed that by a day... Would have loved to see that in real.

AND it would have been the first time that Samevloeing would have produced

Best time for visiting Kgalagadi, weather wise? We camp with a Eco 4 x4 trailer with a roof tent. We are thinking perhaps May?

Morning all,

Well regarding the rain......for some reason the rain misses Twee Rivieren camp every time. Last night it was raining all around Twee Rivieren (a good soft rain), Nossob is receiving some good rain and so is the area up to Mata Mata.

I have spoken to some of the local farmers which told me that the way the weather is playing out we can make ourselves ready for good rain this year. So let’s hold thumbs and see.

I will ask the respective section rangers to send the rainfall stats of their areas ASAP.
