I see that Accuweather are predicting 31mm for TR tomorrow (Tues). Will be interesting to see how much actally falls.

Looking at the web cam it looks like there are a few dark clouds around at Nossob.

20 days till arrival at TR. I cant wait.

Hi Jannie

I see on the webcam it is very wet around Nossob. Any rainfall figures available? I presume it was yesterday evening (Wednesday 1 Feb).

Morning All, from a wet Kgalagadi.

It has been raining since yesterday afternoon; it’s been n light drizzle the whole night. I just came back from samevloeiing and it looks good. At last it seems that our rains are here.

The park will indeed be very green in a week’s time after this rain. I have asked the section rangers for the rainfall during January 2012 in their areas as soon as i receive it i will post it

Have a great one

KG

KG How does this compare to last year? It will be interesting to see the level of the grass in May compared to the last few years with this years lesser (or later) rainfall

Hi there Gavin,

Up to date, we had much more rain last year than where we currently are.

One of the highlights of visiting KTP this time of the year is the beautiful cloud formations and wide open spaces. The very same clouds sometimes turn into a rolling mass of black and the lightning that follows leave me in awe. There's no place like KTP to experience this and after the storm the smell of freshness and wet soil is overwhelming to your senses. We all know that after the blessed rains every plant and blade of grass turn to a lush green.Man I love this place.
