Hi guys. So I take it you are talking about this Saturday? The Captured Experience Banquet in the bush? We are also going to be there, driving through from Pretoria tomorrow (Friday).
How is the rain situation looking? I see the Nossob webcam has gotten very wet 2 days ago.
Looks like my first visit to the KTP is likely to be wet! Now that's not quite what I was expecting from a semi desert! Haha! Will make the best of it no matter the weather though!
A concern though is how bad could the main roads get? I'm going to be driving a sedan...
Reagrding the weather...it all depends on who you ask,
It has rained two days ago, and according to certain weather sites they predict more rain. We do have a Plan B in place for if it rains. You guys don’t have to worry about driving to the 'site' as I’m minister of transport and it has been arranged. All guests for the weekend will leave their vehicles in Twee Rivieren and will be transported by vehicles to the 'site' and back.

Met al die lekker reen in Namibie wonder ek of die Auob en/of Nossob riviere dalk die een keer in 'n leeftyd kan afkom? Selfs in vloed kan wees!
Translation: With all the lovely rain in Namibie I'm wondering if the Auob and/or Nossob rivers might flow once in a lifetime? It could even be a flood!

Thanks "minister of transport" Will be great to meet you on the day, and Im sure the even will be a great success!
PS: I am just worried about the weather week after the event, when will will be driving all over in our sedan, may get stuck, ..... Im just kidding, sure it will be fine.
Welcome to the forum, hope you will have a great time here.
The Aoub flows every 11 Years (which should be now), the Aoub from the Namibian side stopped flowing about 15Km from where it enters Kgalagadi. The Nossob flows about every 100 years.
You are more than welcome to send me a PM in Afrikaans and I will answer your questions.
Jannie

I was so hoping that the Aoub would come down this year, but it seems it was not to be hopefully next year (Who knows since it is still raining and it has been predicted until May). I have heard rumours that the Nossob was flowing in the Namibian side, but it seems just like rumours.
