Hi All,
Sorry for the late reply but I was in the KTP : The roads were indeed very badly corrugated. The day after we got to Urikaruus the road up to Mata Mata was graded, this helped whist we were there but I am sure that it was again corrugated soon after we left. It is disturbing to see the amount of vehicles driving around without deflating their tyres :The road from Urikaruus to Nossob across the dunes is fine but from the T junction up to Nossob is terrible. If I had false teeth they would be gone!

Anyway this was my first trip to the park and I must say that it was truly magic. Some nights minus 5 but you live with it. I took a gas heater with (the one that fits on top of a gas bottle) and this proved to be a life saver when showering at night.

Hi Siwet,
I called the park and was told hopefully the end of August. I suppose with contractors and other external influences one does not know for 100%. It seems like a good chance though

So anyone knows wether You can drive the road from twee Rivieren directly to Nossob ? the last section allways was terrible to go by a normal car, think, 4 x 4 is o.k., but allways release the pressure to 1.6.

This is a rather stupid question but what is the conversion from 1.6 bar to PSI?

23.2 pounds per square inch is 1.6 bars

Not a stupid question, btw; is there such a thing

We have just had a reply regarding the completion of the road works on the Nossob road from Dupel Erasmus - Tourism Manager for the KTP who reports as follows:

"The road completion is delayed with no definite date for completion, as the contractor is behind schedule."

This is a dreadful blow and will add some considerable time onto our travel times!

The links in my signature might help. I believe the road is still under construction with no fixed date for completion yet.

Management of the park want this road opened as much as we do. They want their road back !! Tthe lastest news is they are still hoping for the end of this month : Will not be open for our arrival but maybe we will be lucky enough to exit the park from this road.

There's a donkey cart track from Two Rivers (Bots) to Roiputs. We used it in May.

Location: Pretoria but on my way to KTP
We are visiting our "battery charger" (aka KTP) next week for 8 days and wondered if anyone has recently travelled via the dirt road through Van Zylsrus to Askham and then on. What is the condition of the road at the moment??

This is my preferred route, takes slightly longer but such beautifull scenery.........

Thanks
