Thanx allot DB, do you maybe know how far apart the electricity boxes is from each other, cause I don't want to battle with a too short lead at then end of the day

At TR they are pretty far apart from each other, so again take a extra lead to be on the safe side.

I was there with the HR Indaba, so the camp was fully booked, and we actually could only get a site without electricity. But I did notice that one might need a long lead if you do not wish to set up camp slap in the middle of the camping area, or along the perimeter.

The camping areas have plugs in the 'kitchens', which people use for precisely your purpose droopy. Nobody interferes with your stuff.

Sorry this may sound stupid, but BB what do you mean by "kitchen"?
And do we need the "Blue Adaptor" like in the KNP?

Yes Droopy you do need a blue plug and as DB says take a long lead just in case....as well as a couple of adapters. If you have booked a campsite with electricity you should get one. Not all of them have electricty...

Nossob & 2R have kitche/wash up areas with normal 15 amp plugholes. I have seen freezers plugged in there.

At the campsites themselves are blue plug connections. You can buy the adapters at the shops if they have stock....

What is this "Blue Adaptor" ?

It is a blue adapter that will take a normal 3 prong plug such as we use here in SA and then plug into the electric box in the camp sites.

One can either have an extension lead with a 'blue plug' which will plug straight into the Park's outlets, or one needs to use an adapter.

At Nossob if one walks into the kitchen wash-up area there are usually several fridges plugged in - it's also cooler in there than at the campsites during the day, plus being jackal and scorpion free!

Moose needs a blue plug adapter asap. Can you only buy them in the parks (for R175.00 ), or can you buy them from camping supply stores, or Game or something?

Camping/outdoor supply stores should have them. Give them a call just to check they do have stock. I do not think Game will have them.

Moose, you should be able to get them at Outdoor Warehouse - just be sure that yo get the Adaptor for Sanparks - Cape Nature has a different one

I've checked the outdoor warehouse website and there's nothing on there, but that doesn't mean they don't have them. I'm having a friend check the Outdoor Warehouse in Roodepoort today and i'll try the one in Durbanville this week. Thanks for the tip- didn't know there'd be seperate ones for Cape Nature.

Why do they even have weird plug adapters that only work in SanParks? Is there a good reason for it? You can use normal plugs in Addo...

Moose - the adaptors used by Sanparks are the standard ones used by accredited caravan sites - it has to do with outdoor electricity connections - need to be waterproof, etc.

Its Cape Nature thats out of line.
