The water is not unsafe, it just tastes terrible, like sea water.
No ribbed pan , just an aluminium frying pan. I can't remember what pots they have, but it should be ok for pap. I normally take my own teflon "pap" pot with.
Tents are serviced daily (they don't do the dishes though)

I agree with the others. On our recent trip the water at Gharagab was the most unpleasant of all the camps we stayed in. Take your own water in jerry cans and use it for everything - boiling for tea/coffee, cooking and even brushing your teeth!! The water at Kalahari Tented Camp wasn't too bad, however.

Kitchen pots OK for pap, but only plain frying pan.

Solar powered lights but no power sockets. Use car for charging things.

Enjoy your trip!

Why would the wilderness camps only have 4 units each?

Unread postby picnic » Wed Aug 29, 2012 11:11 am

The wilderness camps are so popular why do they not have more units? As they are always fully booked and very popular one would think that they would pick up on it and expand a little. :hmz:

See here , Picnic and LQ :
Please note:

1) In order to retain the tranquility and exclusiveness of the wilderness camps we do not exceed 8 people per camp.

:D Very much appreciated Matthys. I've been to many wilderness camps and I don't think that more than 8 people will interfere with the tranquility of the camp. :naughty: It will only enhance the feeling. The wilderness camps usually are so quiet and the visitors so tranquil enjoying the wild.
