Definitely heard a generator in August 2009 at Twee Rivieren, not that loud, possibly from the Two Rivers side? Anyhow, as you heard there is no problem at the moment. Can anyone tell me if the Rooiputs campsite will still exist after the lodge is going to be built in that area?

Kaslo,

I will get more information regarding the 'lodge' that will be built, as soon as I have the info I will post it.

Hi All,

how do book specific camp spots for for the kgalagadi park online. i would obviously like to book a spot under a tree for a few days.

does the website just randomly allocate u a spot or can u get specific.

and if u give advice which spots would be nice for MM or Nossab to camp.

thanks for the advice.

You can't. It's first come - first served.

Hi Wade,

Next to the fance at MM is the best, otherwise if you get a lot of rain your mattress myght float in the night.

Nossob has quite a few trees so you might be lucky, otherwise next to the fence. Listen and watch for the barking geckos that pop out at dusk.

Welcome to the forum wademckenzie :D

The only choice you have when booking a campsite is that you can book a site with or without electricity.
I do know that the campsites along the fence in Nossob do not have plugpoints. I have not camped at MM so I cannot offer any advice there....but I have seen a photo on the forum of a tent pitched in a huge puddle along the fence at Mata Mata so if you are intending to visit during the rainy season then maybe along the fence at MM is not such a good idea. :D

Puddles are cool, even in summer!

Fully, but the only dry bit of campsite at MM was next to the fence in Feb during the thunderstorms.

You mean I only 'dreamt' that we woke up in this puddle next to the fence in Feb

Hi wademckenzie,
As far as camping sites are concerned, it is always first come first served. SANPARKS do not allocate camp sites.
Mata Mata, being smaller is always a bit more of a bun fight, and if you can get a spot next to the fence under a tree you are in luck!!

At Nossob, there is less pressure unless you want one of the unelectrified sites on the western side, in which case you may battle.

BTW dream on if you want one in May 2012... We are already there

I was camped to the right just out of Dreamer's pic. You don't show the rest of the camping area that you must have swum across.
