Quick update on leopard sightings:
18 August - A caracal carcass was seen hanging in a tree at Dikbaardskolk picnic site. A leopard and cub was seen behind a nearby tree, difficult sighting, no pix therefore no ID.

28 August - A leopard was seen at Kameelsleep waterhole, early morning. AstroMatt has IDed it as L56, Tswana's 'new' nearly grown cub.(Jo was the first person to see this leopard with mom Tswana at Cheleka - posted on this thread).

We were fortunate to have a wonderful sighting of this leopard at Polentswa waterhole about 10 days ago. Anyone able to help ID her? And I say her, because we saw another leopard in the bush from where she came, and it looked so much smaller, thought it was her cub? The other car with us also thought it was a cub, unfortunately it just lay down and slept so only managed to get one clear face shot.

Thought this might be a cub?

Hi wendzh! Lovely sighting! Thanx for posting!
These look like new leopards to me. I'm sure AstroMatt will reply soon and let us know. If you can, please fill out the 'Report a sighting page' in the link at the end of my post. This will really help the leopard ID project!
Thanx!

I was very lucky to get my first proper leopard sighting in the KTP after three years visiting the park (after about 14 visits) - this male about 800m from Rooibrak waterhole on Sept 05, 2013 around 10H40. Not sure about the ID but I am sure the gurus would be able to ID him.

Later that afternoon my sister saw him drinking water at Rooibrak.

Enjoy

Great sightings all round!!
Thanks for the update info Wanderw and for the identification of Tshidi

Wendzh....what a great sighting of two leoaprds. I've had a look at the pictures that you've posted here and i can't identify them with any of the current leopards i know about.
I'm currently trying to update the guide as there have been quite a few recent changes (pictures etc). I'd really like to include these in the next version. Could you please drop me an email so we can get sort this.
As you were the first to report them can you also start thinking of some suitable names. The rules are african sounding and related to the park. I'd suggest doing some google searches for suitable names. When you've found a few please drop them in an email to me.

WillemK...what a sighting of Tshidi. He is looking very healthy and has a cracking set of teeth ;)
If you can submit this as a report on my website then that would be appreciated.

A couple of other reports i've had recently. There is a new male leopard been seen at Kaspersdraai, he isn't an old boy but looks to be fully grown. I've also had a report of N!xau at Polentswa on the 25th August 2013 early in the morning. He was looking a bit bashed up with a bloody nose.

As I said earlier I've been updating some pictures in the guide.
In particular I've been updating Warona's photos seeing as he is no longer a small cub. In doing so I found the following comparisons quite interesting and I thought I'd share them. The photos on the left are mine taken in December 2012 and the ones on the right are Sean O'Hagan's from August 2013.

You can see how the skull has changed shape quite a bit. Also the ear size is interesting.
Enjoy!
