@Jo - lovely sighting and thanx for posting! :gflower:
One old and one new! I believe you saw Tswana and her 'new' oldish cub. At what time in the day did you see them?
If you send the originals to AstroMatt, he will check them once he gets back from his KTP trip.

Brilliant news Jo :gflower:
@ Wanderw, you are 100% correct  it is indeed Tswana and a new cub. Her movements are very interesting as she is barely seen except for when she has grown up cubs!

So looking at the time lines, i think Tswana's last cubs split from her at the beginning of 2012. If she mated almost immediately then her next litter would have been born some time around April maybe May. So this would then make the cub you saw about a year or so old....which fits in nicely with them still being with mum. This is really quite interesting as its telling us about the breeding rate, and it looks pretty fast!

I had a great trip walking with the bushmen, it really was an eye opener. I only managed to spend one day actually in the river bed and unfortunately didn't get any spots....except the ones on the very small lion cubs at Samevloeiing....will post them in another thread.

I did see leopard spoor in Augrabies through....thanks AG, and very close to the rest camp....which is really exciting.

Leopard sighting at Kgalagadi: Kousant Waterhole: Latitude/Longitude:-25.146911/20.424545: April 17, 2013:
Looks like newbies can't attach images so you can see it here. Very clear full face view.

I would love to know which leopard this is, thanks.

Hi Andrew.ashton,
Welcome to the forum. :D

Thanks for posting  , you have some interesting pics :hmz: . I've taken a quick look and it would appear that you probably have a new leopard here. Could i ask you to fill in a full report on my website below and to send me a range of pictures so i can do a thorough check.

Do you also have an idea on the sex?
I also think that the leopard looks quite young, but also a bit underfed. A few other pics showing the condition would be great.

Has anybody in recent times seen the leopard again at the waterhole
at Nossob ? I do have it that it was seen there for a couple of days
somewhere in the middle of May.

Your info to be appreciated.

Hi Red Dune,
I'm not exactly sure which leopard you are asking about. Balete was seen for a few days at the Nossob hide in March, she even had a BBJ kill in a near by tree.
She is the last leopard i have recorded at the hide.

Since then Balete was seen multiple times along the Marie se Gat loop. These sightings were all at the start of May...is it possible you were asking about these?

I hope this helps but feel free to ask more questions.

Thank you Steffi for permission to post. :gflower:
Following pix taken by Steffi Peter at Ljiersdraai waterhole on 1st June 2013 from noon to 2pm.

Going by the pix - looks like a young female!
A new leopard? :hmz: ... or Tobogo?

It is virtually impossible to compare spot patterns with the only 2 pix of Tobogo that are available. Also, the guide has Tobogo down as being a male, however this is not 100% certain as pix are not that clear. For now it looks like Steffi has found a new leopard. If more pix of Tobogo are posted here or sent to AstroMatt  , hopefully a proper comparison of spot patterns can be made and a conclusion can be reached one way or the other.
