Yes AstroMatt, when Enrico told us there was a leopard in a tree we dashed off at full speed! As we got there the leopard jumped down and we thought we were too late, but it lay on the ground under the tree. After a while we saw a tail hanging from the tree - TWO leopards We watched them for a total of about three and a half hours. The second cub came down at 6:00 and they walked towards us. By then all the other cars had left. Realising they were only babies and that mum must be around somewhere, we followed them for a couple of hundred metres and there she was, on the top of the dune! If we had seen nothing else for the rest of the holiday (but we did )we still would have come home happy!

@AstroMatt - Great sighting of Miera! You do seem to have a connection to her! Interesting that she was still close when there were lions around. When we got to Montrose and saw the lions(albeit a few days previously) I thought that our chances of seeing a leopard had gone out the window!

I was so sad when they never came out from behind that ridge.........now I at least know who we saw!!! Thanx Enrico for sharing yours..........just beautiful!!!

We'll be back at Urikarus 13 December and I'll scan that area day and night!!! ............

We really were incredibly lucky with this sighting (many, many thanks to Enrico for telling us about it, otherwise we would have stayed in camp) - and, of course, patience played a BIG part in it. But there really didn't seem much point in driving off looking for something else. After all, what beats multiple leopards?
500+ photos are rather too many to sort through though Don't worry, I won't post them all. @ Lion Queen and Jan, do hope you get to see the cubs (and Barolong) in December.

Really glad you went to look for the leopard,if you had not we would not have these lovely pics of these magnificent creatures to drool over.
Very that I did see the family myself.
