The campsites have solar powered lights in the kitchen,toilet and shower. The geyser is also solar powered.

But there are no electrical powerpoints.

Thank you re electricity at the campsites at Mokala. Are there freezer/refridgerator facilities at the campsites in Mokala?

The private ablutions have solar power lighting, albeit very dim. The kitchenettes are kitted out with a 2 plate gas stove and a gas fridge/freezer.

No freezer facilities at the campsites at Haak en Steek .

There is a large fridge freezer in your private kitchen at Motswedi. I do not know how to post pictures but visit my website www.wildeboer.co.za and look under MOKALA SPRING, I posted detailed pictures of the kitchen, bathroom and toilet at Motswedi.

The pictures will give a good idea. The lights were also upgraded and are now bright.

I did read this a while back but since we will be visiting Mokala later this year we became more interested in the park. It is not clear from press releases where the new land has been added. As we don't know the area could someone tell us where the additional land is in relationship to the Mokala map on the Sanparks website.

The Lilydale section is part of the new land.

In my opinon the press release is somehow misleading. Lilydale was already part of Mokala before. They just put down the fence between the eastern and western part, which was - regarding this map -

approximately at the 10.7 km between Kameeldoring Loop and the Lilydale pin.
Taking down the fence in November has already led to more animals in the Lilydale section as we could see during or stay in December.

New is Valschfontein, which should - AFAIK - be between Stofdam Bird Hide and the Lilydale pin. Valschfontein extendeds the park to the north. I interpret Daphne's quotation "rectifying the park’s inefficient shape" that SANParks tries to fill up the corners in the map, especially those with acute angles, as they lead to longer fences.
