I haven't. I've been only been to Kenya, so that's what my focus has been on. So Kobie Kruger is new to me, I'm more familiar with people like Kuki Gallmann, Stefanie Zweig, Corinne Hoffmann and Saba Douglas-Hamilton

These are really lovely reads.
Highly recommended.

Have only read My Wilderness Family - absolutely LOVED it! Is there any point in reading the other two also??? Don't want to be disappointed as the one I read was excellent - could hardly put it down..... Am off to Kruger beginning of Jan and was looking for a nice Kruger read!

Def worth the read ... they compare excellently with the 1st one ...

I also remember seeing a documertary on baboons where she compared different troops behaviours. It made a lasting impression on me.
I finished reading her first book last night, it was a birthday gift.
I had found her second book in a secondhand book shop and my daughter saw how much I loved it, so the first was her birthday treat for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mahlangeni by Kobie Kruger.
I thoroughly enjoyed All Things Wild and Wonderful too but boy did I have a lump in my throat all through that book!!

I thought these were chicks books , after my wife bought them .

Ended up reading the 1 about Leo , its pretty moving .
I think I will read the other 1 on Sunday afternoon about my wilderness family .

Does anyone know what the eventual fate of Leo was/is ?

I bought "All things wild and wonderful" (the "Leo book") a few days ago, and almost (some 40 pages to go) finished it in one go on the flight home. Delightful!!! Definitely going to get me more of her books on next trip.

Curious about Leo's whereabouts these days too.

I think Leo lived to a ripe old age of 10 or 12 before he passed on ...

Finished Mahlangeni by Kobie Kruger last night, a great read indeed... pity it had to end. What an adventurous live they lived in the park, not for the faint at heart.

I've also read Kobie's 2 books and really enjoyed it very much. She has a writing skill thats make reading easy, filled with humour, her love for the veld and animals, sadness and joy. One can actually come part of their adventures.

I bought her two books when I was in the Park 2 weeks ago. It took only 3 days to finish Mahlangeni. I am getting my teeth into All things wild & wonderful now and enjoying every minute.

Her writing style sure makes for easy reading!

I read the Afrikaans version several years ago - "Boskonsert" (bush concert) I think it is called. I found Mahlangeni at a second-hand shop around the corner a month or two ago. I'm currently busy with my second read.

Also read the 2 english books and they are so amazing! I recommend them too! If only I could speak fluent Afrikaans I could read the others too
